With Chicago in the rear view mirror it was time to head to Branson, Missouri. The first day was a quiet one on Sunday, Oct. 29th. Day 2 we cruised around a bit and managed to catch some Great Blue Herons fishing for dinner. On Hallowe’en it was off to Arkansas and the beautiful, historic town of Eureka Springs. Then a couple days around Branson, a Beatles cover band show and a dinner/ show cruise around Table Rock Lake on the Showboat Branson Belle before heading for Texas down Route 66.

A quiet day. Only a few shots today. There is a very pretty lake just outside Branson named Table Lake.

Just a quick road trip to Table Rock Lake. Later we found some Great Blue Heron's looking for dinner below the dam.

Hallowe'en. A great day for a road trip to Arkansas. So, off we go to Eureka Springs. Very pretty little town. Narrow streets, 100+ year old buildings and lots of history.

Just a day around Branson. And, then we took in our first show, "Liverpool Legends". A Beatles cover band promoted by George Harrison's sister. Good but not great.

Another quiet day around Branson. Then a dinner cruise around the shores of Table Lake on the "Showboat Branson Belle". This is a genuine paddle wheeler showboat. The lake, by the way, is a man made lake created by the dam built in 1956. It is 70 miles long, over 250 feet deep with over 800 miles of beautiful shoreline.

A long day on the road. From Branson, MO to Shawnee, OK along "The Mother Road", Old Route 66.

Well, we finished the journey to Holly Lake Ranch, Texas. A few shots along the way and then some around the resort. The area is beautiful, with a little lake, golf course and forest. However, the room leaves a lot to be desired and the internet is very poor.
